ABOUT SUMC

Celebrating 182 Years in Ministry!

Hello from Smithtown United Methodist Church,

There is a place for you here at Smithtown UMC, a church growing in God’s grace and spirit.

At Smithtown UMC people come together out of our love of God to work on building a beloved community of faith.  We are in our 182st year in ministry to the people of Smithtown, Kings Park, Nesconset, Ronkonkoma and surrounding towns. Our members range from nursery age to our active 80 and 90 year olds!  We come from varying backgrounds to worship the goodness that God has shown us and to impact our community.

At Smithtown we enjoy: vital worship services that blend traditional and contemporary music to uplift everyone’s spirits; Christian education through bible and book studies, Confirmation classes, and Sunday School; Christian fellowship through our United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women’s fellowship, and youth group. Community outreach is a key part of our ministry here at Smithtown.  We sponsor a Boy Scout Troop open to all boys in the community; a Parkinson’s Therapy Center that provides free therapy for Parkinson’s sufferers; and serve the needy of our community through the Smithtown Emergency Food Pantry.  We offer educational opportunity for area 3 -5 year olds through our Wesleyan Pre-school where children learn in a loving and safe environment.

Smithtown UMC welcomes all to share their God given gifts as we work to build the Kingdom of God here on earth.  There is a place for you here too, whether you are new to the faith or a seasoned Christian.  Please join us in our worship service, every Sunday morning at10 am.  There is an early morning service also that takes place at 8:30 am on the second and fourth Sunday of the month.  Our pastor would be happy to talk to you if you have questions.  You can reach her via email through this website.

May God continue to bless you in every way.
